Modern Learning Practice Global changes to the way we approach education are being driven by two main factors: advances in technology meaning anyone can learn anywhere and at any time  realisation that this requires new skills - for example being able to think critically about, and then do something with, the information obtained Modern learning practice (or pedagogy) is the term used to describe the teacher actions that achieve the best learning outcomes for 21st century learners.  Modern learning occurs in spaces that are "fit for purpose", designed with learning in mind.  Modern learning is personalised and student centred; engaging and connected to real problems in the real world and is designed to develop confident, capable learners who will lead change, be creative and innovative. The Katote "amazing race" has been designed to capture the elements of MLP - providing a fun, engaging activity that provides participants with agency (how and where they learn), opportunities to use digital tools, to work collaboratively with peers, to learn new skills and reflect on performance.
